31/5/2010 - Gemco Rail $40 million Rail Wagon Contract
Gemco Rail Pty Ltd has won a Contract to build and supply 194 container wagons for IMX resources located in South Australia.
Gemco is due to commence the project in late 2010 and is supported by the Elphinstone Group.
Gemco Rail has also entered into a related maintenance contract with Specialised Bulk Rail Pty Ltd who are rail haulage operators.This 5 year contract is for maintanance of wagons.

GEMCO RAIL has designed and manufactured a Rail Train and Straddle Crane, being delivered to Pilbara Iron Karratha for commisioning and handover. The Rail Train is built to carry 400m lengths of continuous welded rail. It is capable of carrying 40 strings of rail, 10 rails wide by 4 layers high.
The Rail Train is made up for 22 wagons:
- 3 wagons with running rails for the straddle crane
- 17 wagons with 2 sets of roller gates
- 1 wagon with 2 sets of clamp gates
- 1 wagon with a buffer frame
